Branon's Sugarhouse

Our Class Takes A Trip To A Sugarhouse

Our class got to go and see how a big sugaring operation is run. We learned about reverse osmosis, how to obtain lots of sap from a big sugarbush, and see where large amounts of sap are stored and processed. We visited the woods to look at boosters which work as vacuums to bring sap to the sugarhouse. The students toured the operation and saw a very modern evaporator. We, of course, got to try some of the product. The class tried maple cream with sliced apples and had sugar on snow.

Balls And Ramps

Our Class Experiments With Balls And Ramps
The kindergarten students were able to spend a number of days experimenting and observing their findings as to how balls react with different ramps. The class had a lot of fun creating their own tunnels, ramps, and devices to watch how speed, motion, and balls interact with each other.
