Winter Fun-Inside And Out

Our Class Builds Snow People And Spaghetti Towers
We were able to have some great days in the snow sledding and building snow people. Our science for the week and next is on structure building. We have gone over terms such as stability, base, model, and structure. They were very creative with their engineering tasks. We started with discussions about how buildings and other structures stay up and worked with blocks first to make a stable base. Our towers and structures are on display in the library.

Our Class Makes "Stone Soup"

The Kindergarten Chefs

Our class made a big pot of stone soup with a bunch of veggies from our community garden. We used carrots, onions, celery, potatoes, and parsnips. The class did a wonderful job with the peeling and cutting and we let it simmer all day. Then the eating began!!!!!

Veterans Day And Class Community

Our Class Takes A Walking Field Trip And Makes A Class Spider Web

Our class walked from the school on Friday to attend the Veteran's Day parade. We learned what our veterans have done for our country and the importance of having a free and independent country. Our class was able to write thank you letters to veterans for a veterans breakfast on Thursday and we had a great time walking as a school to the parade.

We also created a class web as part of our ongoing community building experiences. We rolled a ball of yarn to a friend and greeted them and then held on to our piece, creating a very large spider web.
